اعتبر الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون، في مقابلة مع مجلة “ذي إيكونوميست” الأسبوعية نشرت اليوم، بأن “ما نعيشه حاليا هو موت سريري لحلف شمال الأطلسي”، مبررا ذلك بالابتعاد الأميركي وسلوك تركيا العضو في الحلف.
وقال ماكرون: “يجب أن نوضح الان ما هي الغايات الاستراتيجية للحلف الأطلسي”، داعيا من جديد إلى “تعزيز” أوروبا الدفاعية قبيل قمة للحلف في لندن مطلع كانون الأول”.
وأضاف: “ليس هناك أي تنسيق للقرار الاستراتيجي للولايات المتحدة مع شركائها في حلف شمال الأطلسي، ونحن نشهد عدوانا من شريك آخر في الحلف، تركيا، في منطقة تتعرض مصالحنا فيها للخطر، من دون تنسيق”، معتبرا أن “ما حصل يمثل مشكلة كبيرة للحلف”.
ووسط تلك الظروف، تساءل الرئيس الفرنسي خصوصا عن مستقبل المادة الخامسة من معاهدة الحلف الأطلسي التي تنص على “تضامن عسكري بين أعضاء التحالف في حال تعرض أحدهم لهجوم”.
وسأل: “ما هي المادة 5 غدا؟ إذا قرر نظام بشار الأسد الرد على تركيا، هل نتدخل؟ هذا سؤال حقيقي”.
وأضاف: “نحن ملتزمون محاربة “داعش”. المفارقة هي أن القرار الأميركي والهجوم التركي في الحالتين لهما النتيجة نفسها: التضحية بشركائنا على الأرض الذين حاربوا “داعش”: قوات سوريا الديموقراطية”.
