أفاد باحث لدى منظمة العفو الدولية أنه قتل مالا يقل عن 16 شخصا إثر أعمال عنف اندلعت هذا الأسبوع في إثيوبيا مع خروج مظاهرات مناهضة لرئيس الوزراء الحائز على جائزة نوبل للسلام آبي أحمد علي. وقال فيسيها تيكلي لوكالة الأنباء الفرنسية “حتى الآن، تأكدنا من مقتل 16 شخصا لكن يتوقع أن يكون العدد أكبر مع ورود تقارير جديدة لم نتأكد من صحتها بعد”.
قُتل 16 شخصا على الأقل في العنف الذي اندلع هذا الأسبوع في إثيوبيا مع خروج مظاهرات مناهضة لرئيس الوزراء الحائز على جائزة نوبل للسلام آبي أحمد علي، وفق ما أفاد باحث لدى منظمة العفو الدولية. وأكد الباحث خبر مقتل 16 ذاكرا أنه من المحتمل أن يكون عدد القتلى أكثر من ذلك.
وقال فيسيها تيكلي لوكالة الأنباء الفرنسية “حتى الآن، تأكدنا من مقتل 16 شخصا لكن يتوقع أن يكون العدد أكبر مع ورود تقارير جديدة لم نتأكد من صحتها بعد”.
وأكد أن العنف شمل حوادث إطلاق نار من قبل قوات الأمن على المتظاهرين لكن الأحداث بدأت تتحول بشكل متزايد إلى اشتباكات عرقية ودينية. وقال “خسر بعض الأشخاص حياتهم بسبب (تعرضهم للضرب) بالعصي والسواطير بينما أُحرقت بعض المنازل. استخدم الناس حتى الرصاص والأسلحة الخفيفة في مواجهة بعضهم البعض”، وأضاف “لا أملك تفاصيل التطورات الأخيرة التي حدثت خلال الليل لكن لا يوجد مؤشر على أنها قد تخف”.
واندلع العنف في العاصمة أديس أبابا وفي معظم أرجاء منطقة أوروميا في إثيبوبيا بعدما اتهم ناشط بارز قوات الأمن بالإعداد لاعتداء ضده.
والناشط جوار محمد هو حليف سابق لآبي وينتمي إلى عرقية أورومو ذاتها التي يتحدر منها رئيس الوزراء والتي تعد الأكبر في البلاد. لكنه بات مؤخرا يعارض بعض سياسات آبي.
وتسلط الاضطرابات الأضواء على الانقسامات ضمن قاعدة مؤيدي أورومو التي أوصلت آبي إلى السلطة العام الماضي. ومن شأن هذه الانقسامات تقويض موقع رئيس الوزراء قبيل الانتخابات المرتقبة في أيار/مايو 2020
