أعلن نائب وزير الدفاع السعودي الأمير خالد بن سلمان، أنه مقتنع بأن إيران تشكل أكبر خطر على منطقة الشرق الأوسط، مشددا على ضرورة الضغط عليها لتفادي اندلاع نزاع إقليمي أوسع.
وفي مقابلة تلفزيونية، أشار الأمير خالد، شقيق ولي العهد السعودي الأمير محمد بن سلمان إلى أن “السلطات الإيرانية ووكلاءها من جانب، والتنظيمات الإرهابية، مثل داعش والقاعدة، من جانب آخر، يشكلون أكبر خطر على المنطقة والأمن الدولي، وهم وجهان لعملة واحدة من حيث سعيهم إلى إنشاء “دولة إيديولوجية عابرة للحدود الوطنية”.
ولفت نائب وزير الدفاع إلى أن جذور الخلاف بين السعودية وإيران تعود إلى تضارب الرؤى، موضحا أن “إيران تريد تصدير الثورة وتمارس إيديولوجية توسعية. لا تريد إيران أن تكون دول أخرى في المنطقة شركاء لها، بل أن تكون جزءا من مشروعها التوسعي. وهناك فارق كبير: لدينا الرؤية الـ2030 التي تدفعنا إلى الأمام، ولديهم الرؤية الـ1979 التي تحاول دفع المنطقة والسعودية إلى الوراء”.
وذكر الأمير أن الشعب الإيراني هو “شعب عظيم ويستحق حياة أفضل”، وحث الحكومة الإيرانية على الحذو حذو السعودية في التركيز على تلبية احتياجات مواطنيها، بدلا عن مواصلة “سلوكها الخبيث” في المنطقة.
وفي الشأن اليمني، ألقى بن سلمان اللوم على الحوثيين في تعثر التفاوض بشأن تسوية النزاع، لافتاً إلى أنه “يتعين على الجماعة الاختيار بين أن تكون قوة سياسية في اليمن أو مليشيا إيرانية وحزب الله آخر”.
