خضع عدد من المرضى الذين يعانون من إدمان شديد لجراحة في الجمجمة تضمنت زرع غرسات في المخ تساعد على التقليل من الرغبة بتناول المواد المخدرة، وذلك في تجربة هي الأولى من نوعها في الولايات المتحدة.
وبحسب رئيس فريق الجراحة، على الرضائي، فإن الأداة التي يتم وضعها “منظم المخ” تعمل على غرار عمل جهاز تنظيم نبضات القلب.
ويخضع المريض لهذه الجراحة بعد إتمام سلسة فحوصات ومسح للدماغ، لتبدأ بعدها عملية ثقب الجمجمة لإدخال أنبوب كهربائي صغير جدا (أقل من 1 مم) في منطقة محددة من المخ من شأنها تقليل أعراض الإدمان ويتم دعم الجهاز ببطارية توضع تحت عظم الترقوة.
وتستمر المراقبة الدروية للمريض من قبل فريق من الأطباء مع خبراء الإدمان، للتأكد من تراجع رغبة المريض بتناول المخدرات.
وتم إجراء عمليات زراعة في المخ من هذا النوع على حوالي 180 ألف مريض على مستوى العالم، واعتمدت “إدارة الغذاء والدواء الأمريكية “التحفيز العميق للدماغ، والمتبعة بهذه العملية كطريقة لعلاج بعض الأمراض مثل الشلل الرعاش، والصرع، والوسواس القهري.
ولفت الدكتور رضائي أن “هذا العلاج مخصص لأولئك الذين فشلوا في أي علاج آخر، سواء كان ذلك دواء، أو علاج سلوكي ، أو التدخل الاجتماعي، إنها تجربة صارمة للغاية تخضع لإشراف علماء في السلوك، وممثلين لجهات رسمية وغيرها من الأجهزة التنظيمية، بحسب موقع”بي بي سي”.
