قال عضو في لجنة الأمن القومي بالبرلمان الإيراني مرتضى محمودوند، في مقابلة صحفية، إن استئناف العلاقات مع السعودية لم يكن طلبا إيرانيا، بل كان مبادرة من السعوديين أنفسهم، وأوضح أن الإعلام المعارض يحاول إيهام العالم بأن إيران هي من توسلت لإعادة العلاقات بين البلدين.
وأضاف إنه منذ اليوم الأول الذي تعرضت فيه السفارة السعودية للهجوم، أدانت الحكومة الإيرانية رسميا هذا التصرف الخاطئ والمتطرف، وأشار إلى أنه لا داعي للترويج المفرط لهذا الموضوع في ظل هذه الأجواء الحميمة بين البلدين، وبالتالي يجب تجنب إثارة الضجة حوله.
ووجه نداءً الى الجهات المسؤولة، سواء في الوسط الدبلوماسي، أو في وزارة الخارجية، أو في السياسة الداخلية، داعياً إياهم إلى دفع القضايا ذات الصلة إلى الأمام بشكل منطقي وأن يتحلى كل فرد بالوسطية في تصريحاته بشأن هذه القضية.
وأكد محمودوند أن “المصالح الوطنية هي الركيزة الأساسية في العلاقات الدولية لكل بلد، فلا يساوم أي بلد على مصالحه الوطنية ما لم تكن هناك فائدة ملموسة في المقابل، ولذلك يجب علينا أيضا النظر بعين الاعتبار للمصالح الوطنية لبلادنا مهما كانت الظروف”.
وفي ما يتعلق بالتأكيد على الجانب السياسي لاستئناف العلاقات بين البلدين، قال: “في الواقع، يحمل استئناف العلاقات نكهة اقتصادية أكثر من أي شيء آخر، خاصة فيما يتعلق بملفات تصدير النفط والغاز والطاقة”.
وبشأن التكهنات بشأن طلب الجانب السعودي لإزالة صورة الجنرال قاسم سليماني من القاعة التي أقيم فيها المؤتمر الصحفي المشترك لوزيري خارجية البلدين، أوضح محمودوند: “لا يوجد لدي معلومات كافية حول هذا الأمر، ولكني أشك في أن وزير الخارجية السعودي لم يكن ناضجا بما يكفي لاتخاذ مثل هذه الإجراءات”.
