قال الألماني يورغن كلوب مدرب ليفربول الإنجليزي اليوم الأربعاء، إنه كان يخشى إقالته من تدريب “الريدز” في سنواته الأولى مع الفريق إذا لم ينجح سريعا في إعادة بناء التشكيلة.
وفي لقاء مع شبكة سكاي سبورتس عن طريق الفيديو قال كلوب: “كان من الواضح أن الأوضاع لن تنضبط بين عشية وضحاها. كانت رغبة الجميع لكننا لم نستطع القيام بذلك لذا طلبت بعض الوقت”.
وأضاف: “لم يسبق لي أن تعرضت للإقالة لذا لم تكن لدي خبرة في ذلك لكنني كنت أعرف أنني أعمل في أجواء مختلفة وإذا لم أحقق نتائج سريعة سأخسر وظيفتي”.
وتابع: “حصلنا على الوقت والأمر الجيد أنه بعد ست أو سبع أو ثماني مباريات كانت النتائج إيجابية وأدركوا أننا في مسار صحيح ومنذ هذه اللحظة لم يشككوا ولو لثانية”.
وقضى كلوب السنوات الأولى مع “الريدز” في بناء فريقه ليصبح قادرا على المنافسة على الألقاب، وقال المدرب الألماني إنه كان يدرك حاجته لإقناع ملاك ليفربول (مجموعة فينواي سبورتس) بمنحه ما يكفي من الوقت لتغيير أسلوب اللعب.
