أشار الرئيس التركي رجب طيب أردوغان خلال المنتدى العالمي للاجئين في مدينة جنيف السويسرية، الى عدم استجابة القوى العالمية الفاعلة لدعوة بلاده لإيجاد حل فعال لمشكلة اللاجئين المزمنة.
وشدد الرئيس التركي على ضرورة إعادة توطين أكثر من مليون لاجئ سوري في “المنطقة الآمنة” في شمال سوريا “خلال مدة قصيرة جداً”.
واعتبر أردوغان أن حل مشكلة اللاجئين غير ممكن إلا من خلال اتخاذ خطوات على مستوى عالمي، معتبراً أن نقص المساعدات الدولية لتركيا لدعم اللاجئين دفعها إلى إطلاق عمليات في شمال شرق سوريا لبناء “منطقة آمنة وتطهيرها”من المقاتلين الأكراد الذين تعتبرهم أنقرة “إرهابيين”.
وكانت جماعات كردية اتهمت الرئيس التركي باستخدام ورقة اللاجئين السوريين لتنفيذ “مخططاته التوسعية”.
