لفت المدير العام لمنظمة الصحة العالمية تيدروس ادانوم غيبريسوس، الجمعة، إلى أن دولا أوروبية عدة تشهد تراجعاً في الإصابات، وإن تراجع الإصابات وقلة الحاجة للعناية الفائقة مؤشرات جيدة.
وتابع غيبريسوس خلال مؤتمر صحافي أنه لا بد من الحذر ومواصلة الصرامة في تطبيق التباعد الاجتماعي.
وحذر مدير عام منظمة الصحة العالمية من رفع متسرع لإجراءات العزل المتخذة للحد من تفشي وباء كوفيد-19، وقال إنّ هذا الأمر قد يتسبب بعودة “قاتلة” للفيروس.
واشار تيدروس أدهانوم غيبريسوس إلى أنه “كما الجميع، منظمة الصحة الدولية ترغب في رؤية رفع القيود. في الوقت نفسه، إنّ التسرع في رفع القيود قد يؤدي إلى عودة قاتلة” للوباء. وأضاف أنّ “تراجع (الإصابات بالوباء) قد يكون بمثل خطورة تفشيه في حال لم يتم التعامل معه على نحو سليم”.
